A Supernatural Birth

A virgin shall be with Child – Isa 7:14

Biologically, it requires a male and a female coming together in a physical relationship so that a child can be conceived. It is therefore unthinkable for modern bible scholars who deny the supernatural, that Jesus can be born of a virgin. It is this refusal to acknowledge the supernatural that has led bible versions to use the phrase a young lady for Isaiah 7:14.
Yet, faithful to the doctrine of the Virgin Birth of Christ, the King James Bible writes: A virgin shall be with child. Why must our Saviour be virgin-born?

It is to fulfill prophecy: “Ge 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; ” GOD tells Adam and Eve that the Saviour would be virgin born. Her seed refers to the fact that there will be NO HUMAN INTERVENTION in the giving of this Christ Child, the Messiah of the Jews and the Saviour of this world.

A human-born child cannot save man. If Joseph had intimate relationship with Mary and a child is conceived, then the offspring must bear the image of Adam, which is of the sinful nature. But because Joseph was not involved, the son born of Mary has the image of GOD “Lu 1:35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.” The Lord Jesus is GOD at conception. The wise men came to worship Him, the Shepherds came to worship, Simeon called Him the Salvation of the Lord.

It reveals the faithfulness of GOD to His word. The promise was given in Gen 3:15 , that it must be a woman’s seed that is to be the Saviour of this world. The Lord in ensuring that the child is virgin born reveals that GOD intends to and has the power to keep His word and He will do it. It therefore tells us that WE CAN TRUST HIS WORD, WE CAN TRUST THE BIBLE.

Our Christianity has a divine origin and a Supernatural Saviour. The Lord Jesus Christ is God come down in the flesh. What are we to do?
We must worship Him
We must submit to Him
We must obey Him
We must serve Him.

Lord I will worship, submit, obey and serve You. Lord, give me a willing heart from this year on. That I may be your true Servant.
