A Useful Life
Ac 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
There are many great men and women this world has seen. Man who by their courage, and intelligence, change the course of their country, or
the times they live in. But none can compare with this insignificant Jew, who at His birth summoned the angels of Heaven to sing, brought
the Wise men to worship and hastened the shepherds to run to Bethlehem and see this thing the angels has announced to them.
In the life of Christ, many who were blind saw again, those who were crippled picked up their beds and walked, the dumb had their tongues
loosed that they may praise the Lord vocally, the deaf can hear again. Those who have been imprisoned for years because of sin and bondage is
set free. How did our Saviour live a useful life?
He lived it by the power of the Holy Spirit: “ God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power”. The Lord Jesus though
GOd, lived a life of complete submission and obedience to the Spirit of GOD and the will of the Father. There was nothing HE did that was
outside of the will of GOD. He did nothing that would contradict His Father’s word and will. He relied on the Power given to Him and the
instructions given to Him. The miracles, preaching, messages and teachings were ALL of GOD. If we want our lives to be useful, we need to live it by the power of the Holy Spirit.
He lived it for others “ who went about doing good, and healing all”. He went about indicating that he was moving around where the people
was, and healing all , indicating that he did good to those who needed it. The Lord Jesus lived His life for others: there can never be a
useful life if we live it for self. The Lord Jesus said “Mt 20:28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and
to give his life a ransom for many”. If we want to our lives to be useful, we need to live it for others.
He lived it with GOD. “GOD was with him”. The bible teach us that we are draw nigh to GOD and He will draw nigh to us. We can do good to
others in our own strength, but it will do us no good unless we have GOD with us. If we want our lives to be useful, we need to live it with GOD.
Is your life useful as our saviour’s was? You can be this Christmas: give your life to Jesus, let Him live His life through you and you will
find that your life will be useful too. The life of Christ changed the course of human history: He has the power to change the course of your life too.
