Giving our all…

Proverbs 23:26 My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways.

All things belong to the Lord, for He owns the cattle on a thousand hills, the gold in every mine. If GOd was hungry, he would not tell us. There is nothing in this world, that He does not own; nothing except .. our hearts. GOd in His sovereign plan, gave all man a free will, to choose his / her allegiance. God did not want robotic hearts, nor does He delight in enslavement. He wants men to freely choose Him as their GOd and as their sovereign.

How does one choose GOd as their GOD? And their sovereign?

Firstly, we must give GOd our heart. The heart is the centre of all decisions and thoughts, emotions and feelings, otivation and will. When we give GOD our heart, we are making Him the first in our decisions, thoughts, emotions, feelings, motivation and will. When we give GOd our hearts, we are telling Him that there is nothing more important than His will, nothing more crucial than His instructions, and nothing more satisfying than the doing and completion of His work in our lives. When we give GOd our hearts, service to GOd becomes lightly, becomes more pleasant, and becomes more urgent. Our heart becomes creative as to how to answer this call, because there is a heart. Giving GOd our hearts is the crux of the Christian life: many a Christian becomes disillusioned and disappointed in life because self is on the throne for the bible teach us “ Great peace have they which love thy love and nothing shall offend them. We must give GOd our hearts.

Secondly, as we give our hearts, our eyes MUST observe GOd’s ways. There are many who claim: I love Jesus: that is enough. GOd says: our love must be based on obedience to the truth of GOD. It is the basis upon which genuine love is based: GOD’s word. There are many perversions of love in this world, and who knows it? But when we look into the perfect law of liberty, we see the perfection of love manifested. Observation of GOd’s ways, help us understand more of GOD’s ways, which in turn teaches us to give more of our hearts to God.

Thirdly, we note that there is always two principles regarding a commitment to GOD: there must be the genuine heart, but there must also be action. One cannot exist without the other. Love for GOd will always issue in action for Him.

Have you given GOD your heart today? Or are you still hanging on away from GOD? GOD wants us to do His will, and He promises to bless us as we give Him our hearts.
